One Player Brought Dracotail to YCS Columbus… And Won the Entire Event

Jesse Kotton was the only Dracotail player at YCS Columbus. Everyone else brought Branded or Kewl Tune. He won the entire event. Branded has a strong matchup into Kewl Tune — which was the deck to beat going into Columbus. Dracotail beating both of them through a full top cut field is one of the most impressive individual performances this format has seen. The new Branded cards are part of why this matters. Fallen of the White Dragon summons itself from hand by sending an Albaz fusion to the GY, then immediately brings out an Ecclesia on summon. Branded in High Spirits searches Fallen of Albaz or any monster that mentions it and recycles itself from the GY in the end phase. The Fallen and the Virtuous pops a card or acts as Monster Reborn for any monster in either GY — all while using Extra Deck sends as cost, meaning disruption doesn't stop the resources generating. Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon extends and recovers simultaneously. Dracotail beating this engine is the real story.
